Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit.  For personal residences in the U.S. (not properties you rent out).  The credit increases from a $500 lifetime credit (through 2022) to a maximum annual credit of $1,200 for qualified property placed in service on or after January 1, 2023.   However, qualified electric or natural gas heat pump water heaters, electric or natural gas heat pumps, and biomass stoves and biomass boilers have a separate aggregate yearly credit limit, 30% of the cost, up to $2,000. Thus, the maximum total yearly energy efficient home improvement credit amount may be up to $3,200.   Qualified solar property has a 30% credit.
